Jee Le Zara: “Farhan Akhtar Needs Three A-List Leading Men,” Reveals Source

Let me set the record straight about Jee Le Zara: the project is still very much on track with the same cast. However, it won’t be happening anytime soon, contrary to recent reports in the press. A reliable source close to Farhan Akhtar clarified, “Farhan has no reason to deny the fabricated stories. He is fully committed to the project and intends to make the film with the handpicked cast of Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt. The cast remains unchanged, and their schedules are being coordinated. Farhan will focus on Jee Le Zara once he dives into Don 3.”
The source further revealed, “Farhan aims to have three A-list leading men for the male roles, rather than the usual suspects who are commonly cast in films that primarily feature women in prominent roles.” Unfortunately, in our film industry, male A-listers often shy away from films where women take the forefront. For instance, Shah Rukh Khan had declined Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat when it was titled Padmaavati. There have been absurd reports circulating about Farhan Akhtar’s intentions to “revive” his project Jee Le Zara, a chick flick featuring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt, which was announced two years ago. I personally spoke to a source close to Farhan regarding this alleged revival, and they chuckled, saying, “Some entertainment outlets ‘revive’ dormant stories when they have nothing else to fill their space.
How can Jee Le Zara be revived when it was never even initiated? Only the announcement of the three female leads was made. Nothing progressed beyond that. Farhan has no plans of starting Jee Le Zara anytime soon. In fact, it may never come to fruition.” The source also disclosed that Farhan’s next likely directorial venture is Don 3, featuring Ranveer Singh. However, even that project is indefinitely delayed as the script requires further refinement, as per the source’s revelation.
