James McAvoy to star in Blumhouse productions yet another horror- thriller ‘Speak No Evil’

James McAvoy is set to star in ‘Speak No Evil’, a remake of the Danish psychological horror thriller Gaesterne (2022). The adaptation will be directed by James Watkins, well known for his work on Eden Lake and The Woman in Black.

‘Speak No Evil,’ created by Blumhouse and Universal Pictures, will be released on August 9, 2024. After M. Night Shyamalan’s films Split (2016) and Glass (2019), this is James McAvoy’s third collaboration with Blumhouse.

Meanwhile, the BAFTA- award winning actor is also not averse to this horror genre. The actor has already appeared in several horror films, including Split, Glass, and It: Chapter 2 (2019).

The original 2022 film about a Danish family who visits a Dutch family they met on vacation. What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend begins to unravel as the Danes struggle to remain courteous in the face of adversity. The film is based on a script written by Christian and Mads Tafdrup. The original film, directed by Christian Tafdrup, was nominated for 11 Danish Film Awards.

James McAvoy was most recently seen in Netflix’s fantasy series The Sandman (2022) and HBO’s His Dark Materials. In addition to Speak No Evil, James McAvoy will appear in the epic action drama ‘The Book of Clarence’, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and LaKeith Stanfield. The film is due for release on September 22, 2023.
