Critics Review : The stellar performance of NTR Jr fails to rescue the film for poor story & content
The film revolves around the tale of three identical siblings known as Jai, Lava, and Kusa. They remain as the part of a drama troupe, which is dealt by their uncle; however, Jai has a stammering problem, which wreck havoc in the show. He is soon seen losing his cool and due to the lack of recognition from his own two brothers, he ends up with some terrible consequences. The rest of the story deals with bringing the three brothers again as the destiny has planned in it after 20 long years, but how does it really works is interesting to catch.
The film somewhere seems to be like a Pandora’s box as you open it you got to get a number of surprises. The trend in Telugu films is to embark with a story or a script that suits the lead actor the most, however, with this film, NTR Jr sees to have gone one step further. His performance and the story remains the entire point of the movie. We get to see some incredible performances particularly of NRT Jr. However, taking a look at the overall movie, the first half of the film seemed half baked with sequences coming too slow and seen not connecting each other in a right frame. The more you are able to absorb the emotional undertones of the story the more fulfilling is the experience. The film though comes with a good intention but it lacks behind to have a good story.
All we see is the old wine kept in new bottle without really giving a good taste out of it. Hence the audience who end up catching the film fail to understand as to why they have come to catch this film, is it for the NTR Jr and his incredible performance or just for the sake of pure entertainment. However, if you are his fan then you would certainly like the film with incredible performances seen in the movie particularly the of NTR Jr, but if you are not his fan, you may find too many loo breaks in the film, which is not a worthy thing at all. Now, talking about the other elements like Music, direction, screenplay and technical things like editing and photography, all seemed okay but nothing really exceptional as it fails to boost up the entertainment value of the movie.
Jai Lava Kusa The Last Word
The only reason to catch this film is NTR and not any other elements. The film lacks behind giving the required content and the script, which is required to make a film hit. The other entertainment elements too remains silent that fails to help the film to rise above.
