It’s a Wrap! Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla Completes Principal Photography
The much-anticipated fantasy-comedy Naagzilla has officially reached its finish line, with director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba calling the final “pack up” on the Mumbai sets this past March 16. While lead star Kartik Aaryan had already wrapped his specific portions a few days earlier, the final day was a bittersweet mix of jubilation and nostalgia for the remaining crew as their adventurous production journey concluded. With the cameras now off, the team is transitioning entirely into a high-stakes post-production phase, where intensive visual effects and meticulous editing will be used to bring this unique “labour of love” to life for the big screen.
Scheduled for a major Independence Day 2026 theatrical release, the film features Kartik Aaryan in the ambitious role of a shape-shifting naag, with Ravi Kishan reportedly stepping in as the central antagonist. The project also serves as the highly anticipated Bollywood launchpad for actress Preity Mukhundhan, who has already established a significant name for herself in Southern cinema. This production represents a major industry milestone, marking the first professional collaboration between Mahaveer Jain and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, as well as the second outing for Kartik and KJo following their 2025 hit, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
The path to completion was an intensive one, involving a massive month-long Mumbai schedule in January and a focused three-week stint in Delhi this past February. However, Kartik Aaryan shows no signs of slowing down; with Naagzilla now in the bag, he is reportedly pivoting immediately to a new untitled sports drama directed by Kabir Khan. Inspired by the life of Kashmiri kickboxing prodigy Tajamul Islam, this upcoming project reunites the actor-director duo after their critically acclaimed 2024 collaboration, Chandu Champion, ensuring Kartik remains one of the busiest stars in the 2026 cinematic landscape.
