Sonam Kapoor Ahuja to make her digital debut as her film Blind takes the OTT route
Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, OTT platforms have become the only source of entertainment. The digital platforms are also becoming very prompt in providing good content to their viewers. Now according to the reports, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja who is absent from the screens for quite some time is making her comeback and this time on OTT.
As per the reports, the actress has already wrapped up work on her next production by Sujoy Ghosh. The thriller is a Hindi remake of a Korean mystery titled Blind.
Originally the film was made for theatres and since there is uncertainty in the situation Sonam’s Blind remake will now be direct to OTT release.
PinkVilla quoted a source as saying, “Sujoy had thought of waiting it out for a theatrical release. He is in fact very happy with how the film has turned out. But given the third wave scare, and another shutdown of theatres, he is being advised to not hold onto the movie anymore. He is now talking to three digital streaming companies and he will select the best deal.”
A trade guy shares, “Blind will be Sonam’s debut on OTT. It is only a logical move to opt for the web because theirs is a small film and they will easily recover the money. Theatrical business is even more dicey at this point. So it’s a good call.”
Sonam was last seen in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga opposite Rajkumar Rao. the film was directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar and stared Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla.
