Petition Against Controversial Netflix series – 365 Days Gets 75,000 Signs online
Ever since the Police film – 365 Days was released on Netflix, it has been making big headlines. Although at one end the film promises some of the best performances, on the other side, many across the world are asking for the fan calling it to be soft porn. We now see a social media campaign pioneered by Mikayla Zazon who is a known social media influencer against the digital giant Netflix. Mikayla has asked the streaming giant to pull down 365 Days from the list of movies available.
In the online petition, Zazon claimed in the petition the makers have glorified the Stockholm Syndrome and thus mocked the victims of the abuse. As per reports, the online petition has garnered around 75k signs in this matter. One of the blunt and brutal criticisms for the movie has come via singer Duffy who came out with an open letter to the Netflix chief Reed Hastings. Duffy was seen opening up the horror story for being kidnapped following by the rape.
In her letter to the streaming giant, she said it saddened her that Netflix is offering such stuff to the audience, which eroticises kidnapping and distorts sexual violence along with bringing out issues trafficking as a ‘alluring’ film. As per her letter, Netflix should avoid hosting films having content glamorizing paedophilia, homophobia, racism, and genocide. Tragically, one can even miss to see the victims of trafficking and kidnapping to be unseen, and yet in 365 Days.While talking about the film “365 Days” it happens to be an erotic drama, which is based on the Polish book called ‘Trilogy’by the author Blanka Lipinska.
