Its been a year to see Shri Rajput Karni Sena agitating against the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film “Padmaavat”. Now, as per the latest buzz, the fringe group has started its protests against the film – Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi starring Kangana Ranaut. However, when its national office bearers were contacted, they openly denied stating that it is not their group who is agitating against the film. Dr. Himasnu of Karni Sena said that someone is using their name to hurl the protest. Their group never agitates against any film, group or people without having a tangible reason behind the same. He said that someone is exploiting their name for their own interest and it has created disrespect for the fringe group.
The film is produced by Zee Studios and it is produced in association with Nishant Pitti and Kamal Jain which is releasing on 25th Jan on the eve of Republic Day. However, there were reports that the Maharashtra unit of the Sena is protesting against the movie. They alleged that the film has shown the relationship of Rani Laxmibai with a British officer. They said that the film has shown the queen dancing, which is against the traditions of Indian society. They had demanded to screen the film to them before it hits the screen next Friday. On the other side, Dr. Himanshu the office bearer of the group at the national party head office has disowned the people agitating the film.
Talking about their agitation against the Sanjay Leela Bhansali Magnum Opus, he said that the family related to Queen Padmavati and others have objected to the film that has made them oppose it. He further said that the family alleged that they were not consulted before making the film and hence they had to take things on their hand approaching the state government and censor board as well. He concluded stating that the makers discouraged us and did not even screened the film to them. However, later the issues died down its own death allowing the smooth screening of the movie in the theatres.
