As the pandemic continues, we see most of the filmmakers only releasing their films on popular OTT platforms including Amazon, Disney Plus Hotstar and others. The makers of the films like Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride of India and Big Bull starring Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan respectively have decided to release on the said OTT platform. However, as per the latest buzz, the makers now have pushed the release date as the IPL is going to start soon.
As per the reports of the portal Bollywood Hungama, the Akshay Kumar starrer film Laxmmi Bomb was slated to release on 9th September but it was pushed at the last minute claimed the reports. Now, the makers want to release the film after the IPL. So, it would be fair to say that the film will now be released in October last week somewhere close to Diwali. Also, similar is the story of the other two films – Bhuj and Big Bull, which will be releasing in the late November and December.
The makers were earlier planning to release the film in the theatres, but considering the pandemic still wreaking all havoc, it was not possible for them to wait that long, hence they felt relying on the OTT platform only. As both the months and September and October will occupy the IPL, hence the makers do not want to take any chance and want to get the release when they can get a good share from the digital audience. Also, some of the films are pending with the last minute patchwork in their post-production works.
