Inside Salman Khan’s Black Buck Case

Salman Khan is known in Bollywood with a number of tags. One of them is of baddie, which is often referred when we talk about his legal cases like hit and run case of Bandra and the other is Black Buck poaching case in Rajasthan. He seems to have a torrid time combating these cases, while the Kick actor is waiting to hear its final verdict of the Black Buck case in coming few days. Many experts feel that it will be a landmark decision from court on black buck poaching, which will certainly going to put an end to illegal poaching once for all.  However, if you dig deep into the interiors of Rajasthan you would realise how simple it is to get a gun and hit the black bucks, which the actor seems to be struggling at the moment. Its the court only, which will decide whether Salman Khan is guilty or innocent, however, we can take a flashback to catch up the important milestones in this case as under:

  • 1st October 1998- In Kankani village based in Rajasthan, the top five B Town actors including Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendra, Tabu and Neelam were seen hunting two black bucks.
  • 2nd October 1998- A police compliant was lodged on this date by the Bishnoi community against Salman and others involved in the killing of the animals.
  • 12th October 1998- Salman Khan was arrested and released on bail in the next five days.
  • 10th April 2006- Salman was convicted in the black buck hunting case by one of the trial courts under the Act of Wildlife Protection Act wherein he was fined for 25,000 INR along with five years of jail.
  • 24th August 2007- The Session Court upheld the conviction and dismissed the appeal of the actor.
  • 31st August 2007- The Rajasthan High Court suspended the sentence; however, it ordered the actor not to leave India without taking a formal permission.
  • August 2013- He was denied a visa for the UK owing to the conviction charges.
  • 13th November 2013- Rajasthan High Court stayed the sentence of the actor, which gave Salman an opportunity to get the UK visa for the shooting.
  • November 2014- The Rajasthan government approached the apex court against the decision of HC in connection with the black buck case allowing him to get the UK Visa.
  • 5th November 2014- Salman requested his appeal in SC asking the court to help him apply for the visa since it will put an impact on his shooting schedules. Later the apex court comprising of justice S.J. Mukhopadhyay and Justice A.K. Goel were seen reserving its order claiming that his conviction cannot be stayed simply because it is seen coming in the way of finding a British Visa.
  • 19th December 2014- The actor’s please to call officials like DCP and DM of Mumbai city as his witness regarding the expiry of the license of the arms, which he used in the alleged poaching case. Soon, you have its final verdict to follow, which will decide the fate of the actor.
