Anupam Kher takes a dig at Aamir Khan over Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure

Aamir Khan’s long awaited film Laal Singh Chaddha recently hit the big screen. However, the film got trapped in multiple controversies even before its release. Laal Singh Chaddha failed miserably at the box office and one of the reasons is the boycott trend on social media.

While many celebrities backed the film and Aamir. In a recent interview with India Today, Anupam Kher reacted to the boycott culture and called on the PK star, citing his previous comments on intolerance.

The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya in pivotal roles.

Anupam Kher took a dig at Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and said, “If someone one feels that they should start a trend, they are free to do so. There are new trends on Twitter every day.” The actor, who has collaborated with Aamir Khan on films such as Dil, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, and others, took a shot at him and discussed his controversial statement about intolerance in 2015. Taking a shot at Aamir’s intolerance remark, The Kashmir Files actor went on to say, “If you have said something in the past, it will surely haunt you.”

According to reports, the distributors of Laal Singh Chaddha have suffered significant losses as a result of the film’s underperformance. The film’s producers and distributors clarified the scene, dismissing reports that some distributors were demanding compensation for the film’s poor performance. The producers confirmed in an exclusive interview with a leading daily that the scenario is completely different.

Ajit Andhare, the CEO of Viacom 18, denied all rumours about compensation for losses and stated that, “There are no external distributors, its being distributed by V18Studios, and no money is lost in the first place. The film is still running in theatres, both in India & internationally. This is baseless speculation.”
