Among the highlights was the first-look poster for IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, a gripping narrative that features an impressive ensemble cast, including industry veterans Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur, alongside Vijay Varma, Arvind Swamy, Dia Mirza, Patralekha, Amrita Puri, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, and Squid Game star Anupam Tripathi. This series, based on true events, promises to deliver a riveting account of the India-Nepal flight hijack, with its first teaser launched by Netflix ahead of its premiere on August 29.
Following the success of critically acclaimed titles like Monica, O My Darling and the popular series Scoop, Netflix has once again teamed up with Matchbox Shots in collaboration with Benaras Mediaworks to bring this harrowing story of terror, crisis, and heroism to life. Anubhav Sinha makes his directorial debut in the streaming arena with IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. For those unfamiliar, the series recounts the shocking hijacking incident of 1999 that gripped the nation. On December 24, Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 took off from Kathmandu to New Delhi, completely unaware that it was about to embark on a dramatic seven-day ordeal filled with terror and intrigue.
