Everyone has been curious about the history of the now-iconic luxury hotel for assassins ‘Continental’ since Keanu Reeves’ John Wick first stepped foot into it in the first John Wick film in 2014. The first teaser for the upcoming three-part prequel miniseries, which explores the origins of the legendary hotel-for-assassins, has already been released.

The short, less than one minute teaser provides you a general impression of the tone of the show as we see numerous assassins preparing, loading, and reloading their weapons in preparation for their next job. Toward the end of the video, a younger Winston Scott (played by Colin Woodell) enters, momentarily gazing at The Continental before proceeding to its main entrance. The teaser doesn’t reveal much but gives a proper impression that as always we will get to see a lot of action and violence in the series.

The series takes place in 1970s New York and follows a younger version of Winston Scott as “he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne”, reads the series official synopsis.

The Continental was first introduced in the first John Wick film. In the film series, Ian McShane played the role of a hotel’s manager ‘Winston’. Ahead of the teaser trailer, the makers had shared a special post on social media that revealed details from The Continental, including the hotel’s elevator buttons and a hotel door sign that reads “Prepare for check-in.”
