At the recently held Filmfare awards, she was the table turning from Deepika Padukone to Alia Bhatt when the Best Actor – Female award was announced. It went to Alia Bhatt for her incredible performance in her film Raazi. Deepika Padukone was also nominated for the award for her film Padmaavat, while she also bagged the same award in another award platform – Zee Cine Award. But this did not work in another award as many voted for Alia allowing her.

The fans of Deepika Padukone were quick to post on her Instagram page slamming the awards for not giving her the best actress award at Filmfare similar to the way the fans of Ranveer Singh and Ayushmann Khurrana have said to the jury members. They went on to even criticize Sanjay Leela Bhansali for slashing down some sequences in the film. They said that the film had much about Khilji and his life in the film and not about Padmaavat played by Deepika Padukone.

However, when Deepika Padukone discovered such reactions coming from her fans, she was quick to respond and you bet she has won hearts of millions with such a sensible reaction. Reacting on losing the awards, she said that she is sorry for not coming up to the expectations of the jury to get the award and would work even harder next year to get the same. Talking about her work, she is now gearing up for the biopic made on the life of an acid attack survivor and would be joining the crew in Delhi soon to start the shoot.
