Housefull 5’s Dual Versions: How Exhibitors Are Splitting Shows & The Unique Strategy Behind This Cinematic First

The highly anticipated comedy film Housefull 5 is scheduled to hit theaters this Friday, featuring two distinct versions: Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has confirmed that both versions will be available to audiences, each boasting a different ending. This unique approach is a first in cinematic history!With ticket bookings now open, it was reported on Bollywood Hungama on how the exhibitors intend to allocate showtimes between the two versions. An exhibition source shared, “The plan is to maintain an equal number of shows for both versions.

For example, if Housefull 5A has been given two screens and ten shows, Housefull 5B will receive the same allocation. However, this may not always be feasible, especially in cases where theaters can only provide an odd number of shows—like 3, 5, 7, or 9. In such instances, Housefull 5A might get the advantage. ”This situation is particularly prevalent in single-screen theaters, which typically run 3 or 5 shows daily.

Housefull 5A will be shown at 3:15 PM and 9:30 PM, while Housefull 5B will screen at 6:15 PM. Other single-screen cinemas, including Chitra, Roxy, Kasturba, Citylight, Inox Nakshatra, PVR Le Reve, Regal, and MovieTime Suburbia, are similarly allotting three shows to Housefull 5A and two to Housefull 5B. Notably, the iconic G7 multiplex will present four shows of Housefull 5A in Gaiety and four shows of Housefull 5B in Galaxy.A multiplex programmer mentioned,

“Additionally, Thug Life is set to release on Thursday, June 5, garnering attention thanks to its star-studded cast and Mani Ratnam’s involvement. We need to accommodate its shows alongside ongoing films like Bhool Chuk Maaf, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and Final Destination Bloodlines. The scheduling for this is still under discussion, but once finalized, multiplexes can better manage the show division between the two versions of Housefull 5. Fortunately, Pen Marudhar is distributing both Housefull 5 and Thug Life, in addition to Bhool Chuk Maaf, which simplifies our planning process.”
