The GOAT Second Look: Does the Vijay-Venkat Prabhu Film Belong to the Science Fiction Genre?
The day after the unveiling of “Thalapathy” Vijay’s upcoming movie’s first look poster, titled The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT), the excitement surrounding the film reached new heights as the star released another captivating poster. The latest poster showcases two Vijays riding a motorcycle and engaging in a fierce gun battle with their adversaries. The Vijay driving the bike exudes a sense of determination and maturity, while the one seated behind him appears to be computer-generated, hinting at a potential sci-fi element in The GOAT. The unique setting depicted in the image further reinforces this speculation, deviating from the typical surroundings. In this scene, the older Vijay brandishes a pistol, while the younger Vijay locks eyes with the camera, firing a machine gun.
Earlier, Venkat Prabhu, the director of the film, had shared images from the movie set, igniting immense excitement among fans. These pictures hinted at the utilization of Light Stage technology, which allows for the capture of digital images of the subject. This cutting-edge technology has the capability to generate a 3D version of the subject, complementing the use of motion capture technology for enhanced results. Although the specific reason for employing this technology in the film remains unknown, it is evident that Venkat Prabhu is working on a project of significant magnitude. Accompanying the images, Venkat Prabhu captioned them with the intriguing phrase, “Welcome to the future.”
The first poster of The GOAT featured two Vijays, suggesting the possibility of the star portraying a dual role in the film, as they were depicted in skydiving suits walking along a runway. Previously known as Thalapathy 68, The Greatest Of All Time is being produced by AGS Entertainment and directed by Venkat Prabhu, renowned for delivering superhits such as Mankatha, Goa, Saroja, Chennai 600028, and Maanaadu.
In addition to Vijay’s stellar presence, the movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Meenakshi Chaudhry, Laila, Sneha, and Jayaram in pivotal roles. The film’s music is composed by the talented Yuvan Shankar Raja. Initially announced in May 2023, fans can eagerly anticipate the release of this highly anticipated movie in theaters this year. Vijay’s previous film, Leo, achieved historic success, emerging as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023 and the fifth highest-grossing Indian movie of the same year, amassing over Rs 612 crore worldwide.
