Making her debut with Days of Tafree, Anuradha Mukherjee has played a leading role in this coming of age story of six youngsters. Anuradha was born and brought up in Kolkata. She is a multi faceted person having been trained in dancing as well movie direction. Before she took the leap to acting in a Bollywood movie, she has worked behind the camera on many occasions in Tollywood movies. She has been contributing as assistant director to Telugu films recently. The actress says her experiences in Telugu movies have been useful. As she enters films now, she says she feels more confident as she knows the technical aspects that go behind the scene. She has played the lead in Marathi film Jaaniva and Kannada film SA that established her as actress.
Anuradha Mukherjee has been inclined to stage performances since her childhood. She is trained in Bharatnatyam classical dance and is mesmerizing on stage. The twenty three year old actress has also been a part of many TV commercials. Her Kannada film SA was opposite Vijay Suriya and Jayram Karthik. She has assisted for Bengali films as well.
Marathi movie Jaaniva (2015):
Jaaniva was a multi starrer movie based on the life of five teenagers. Anuradha shared the screen space with an ensemble of youngsters and experienced actors including Satya Manjerekar, Vaibhavi Sandhilya, Devdutta Dani, Sanket Agarwal, Kiran Karmarkar, Renuka Shahane, Atul Parchure, Indira Krishnan, Salil Ankola, Usha Nadkarni and Kishore Kadam.
This Rajesh Ranshinge directed movie was a depiction of the complex life of today’s life wherein they are put in pressure for material success along with the expectation of fulfilling their social responsibility. Anuradha was noticed for her lively appearance and impactful performance.
Anuradha’s Jaaniva clashed with Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Jaaniva’s strong message did reach the masses and was appreciated. Salman Khan had himself launched the trailer of the film and had lent support for the film. The film enjoyed box office success.
Anuradha’s next release Days of Tafree is out and out comedy with youngsters and new comers playing the lead roles. The other new comers include Nimisha Mehta, Ansh Bagri, Sanchay Goswami, Sarabjeet Bindra. The story revolves around the journeys of these youngsters from their meanderings to reaching their goals. The film is filled with fun and nostalgia of college days.
Anuradha Mukherjee , in an interview, opened up about her experience of working in Days of Tafree. She said she enjoyed the days of her shoot to the maximum as the entire cast was young and inexperienced. The only thing that she missed during her shoot was typical Bengali Fish curry and rice which is her favorite. So Anuradha definitely is a foodie!
