Here is why Sonu Nigam gave a break to judging Indian Idol

Indian reality show, Indian Idol 12 and controversy go hand in hand. The show creates headlines every other day with some new controversy. From the audience calling the show scripted, biased to trolling the contestants, and even calling out for its unnecessary emotional contestant’s backstory.

Now the show recently came to light when various singers came forward and confessed that the makers pay them to give false praises to every contestant.

Recently Bollywood singer and music director, Sonu Nigam talked about the controversial show and advised the judges not to falsely praise the contestants even after they sing terribly. Sonu Nigam was also part of the judiciary panel for some seasons but he had to stop doing the show after the compulsion of makers to over-motivate the contestants.

Previously veteran singer and actor Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar dropped the truth bomb about falsely praising the contestants even though the contestants were not up to the mark.

Winner of Indian Idol season 1 Abhijeet Sawant blamed the show for using emotional appeal instead of taking singers’ talent seriously.

TV host and actress Mini Mathur too did drop out of the show for its melodramatic content.

When Singer Sonu Nigam asked about why he is not seen judging the show he said that he has given a nod for a few shows where he feels he can freely voice his opinion.
