A fresh report claims that HBO is considering rebooting the Harry Potter series. Bloomberg reported that the HBO Max streaming service is currently trying to remake J.K. Rowling’s enormously successful fantasy series as the Harry Potter reboot series.

According to the same report, the show will have seven seasons, each of which will be based on a different novel in the series’ seven-book run. However it has also been reported that J.K. Rowling will be involved in the whole process so that the final product remains loyal to her original material. However Potterheads are not happy with this news, despite the fact that there has been no formal confirmation of it. It has already generated discussion on social media.

Many fans of the original film series are of the opinion that the original film series is already loved by everyone and has already achieved cult status, hence there is no need to once again reboot it into a seven part tv series.

But on the other hand, if it does actually work out then it will also provide plenty of opportunities for the makers to focus and use subplots and various characters that were left out from the film series because of limited time.

The Harry Potter film series is made up of eight fantasy films featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as the three main characters: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. The eight-part film series begins with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001) and concludes with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. (2011).
