HBD Sidharth Malhotra: here’s how a model turned actor became ‘Shershaah’ of Bollywood
Sidharth Malhotra, one of the most good-looking male actors in Bollywood, turns 38 today. He was born in Delhi on January 16, 1985.He did his schooling and college studies there and began modelling. You will be surprised to know that the actor chose this profession to meet his personal expenses. However, looking at the popularity he earned from it, he made up his mind to debut in Bollywood. And then we all know what happened; he was seen in his first film, SOTY. But it wasn’t that quick. What came before that?
When revealing his career, the actor once said that he started as an assistant director before making his Bollywood debut as an actor. Yes, you read that right! Very few people know that Sidharth was supposed to enter the film industry in 2008 with Priyanka Chopra’s hit film, Fashion. However, things did not fall into place due to his contract with a modelling magazine, and his debut was cancelled. Despite this, his passion to work in movies was alive, and he simply kept trying for fresh opportunities.
During a conversation, the actor revealed that he was initially rejected from auditions but was offered an advertisement in 2010. He then made his debut in films as an assistant producer in Karan Johar’s “My Name Is Khan.” Later, the filmmaker offered to have him act in his film, Student of the Year. Sidharth Malhotra debuted as an actor in SOTY alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan in the year 2012. The film that kickstarted the careers of the trio proved to be a hit at the box office.
After his first hit film, Sidharth Malhotra continued to hone his acting skills by working with a number of industry heavyweights. The release of his 2014 film, Ek Villain, which was one of the blockbuster films of the year, changed his life overnight. Penned by Mohit Suri, this film starring Shraddha Kapoor alongside the SOTY actor was loved by the audience. It also grossed an amazing amount at the box office.
Besides acting, Sidharth Malhotra is a fitness freak and also likes to play rugby. The actor says that he feels uneasy if he skips the exercise, even for a day. while he worked on several hit, average, and flop movies. His Netflix release, “Shershaah,” alongside Kiara Advani, was much loved by his fans, and they still recognise him with this title today.
