The moment the popular filmmaker Priyadarshan announced Hungama 2, it brought everyone’s attention. While the veteran director has announced the star cast with actors like Meezaan Jaffery, Shipa Shetty and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles, the director claimed that he tried to rope in the top actors including Kartik Aaryan and even Ayushmann Khurrana and Sidharth Malhotra for the film but the two denied being the part of the sequel of his 2003 comedy Hungama.
Talking about the same, the director said that he did not go and meet the said actors personally but the concept of his sequel was discussed with them via other means to which they did not respond, which was considered as their refusal. He further said that the refusal could be due to the reason that they must have thought that he is an outdated filmmaker now. However, the veteran director is a known face in the filmmaking world and has directed more than 95 movies in the South Indian film industry and Bollywood.
Some of his best movies include Kanchivaram, Oppam, Kaalapani, and Thenmavin Kombath while in Bollywood, he made films like Hungama, Virasat, Hera Pheri, Hulchul, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Hulchul to name a few. While talking about his film, he said he likes to work with actors who are known for their conviction and since these three actors did not give any interest, he did not prefer them to work together. Concluding on the sequel, the director said that he is happy with the way the film has now shaped up. He said he has kept the confusion theme in the second installment as well, however, this time the story is very much different.
