Haq Box Office Collection: Yami and Emraan’s Film Sees Dip, still to cross ₹10 Crore Mark
Haq, starring Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, released in theatres on Friday and witnessed a strong opening weekend with growing momentum driven by positive word of mouth. Inspired by the landmark 1985 Shah Bano Begum case, which granted divorced Muslim women the right to maintenance, the film has resonated with audiences and sparked conversations on social media.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Haq experienced a slight dip on Monday, collecting around ₹1.00 crore—an expected drop on a working day. Despite this, the film’s total box office collection now stands at approximately ₹9.95 crore. After a decent Friday opening, the film saw a 100% growth on Saturday, maintaining similar gains on Sunday.
Reacting to the organic buzz, Yami Gautam took to her X account, saying, “The power of ‘Word of mouth’. No foul-play or any gimmicks. Straight from our hearts to the audience. Even from trade & media perspective, I feel a lot of positivity that they want a film like ‘HAQ’ to be a success. About Haq
The film follows Shazia (Yami Gautam), a simple, uneducated woman married to Abbas Khan (Emraan Hashmi), a successful lawyer. Her life takes a dramatic turn when Abbas unexpectedly brings home a second wife and soon after ends their marriage through triple talaq. The story then focuses on Shazia’s courageous legal battle to claim her rights. The film is directed by Suparn S Varma, Haq also stars Vartika Singh, Danish Husain, Sheeba Chadha, and Aseem Hattangady in key roles.
