The recent comments made by the Bollywood actress offended many, which sparked the wildly popular Twitter hashtags “Boycott Brahmastra” and “Boycott Bollywood.” However, neither the movie nor the actress are original in this regard.
Trolls frequently target Alia for a variety of reasons. This time, Alia allegedly said in an interview that “if you don’t like me, don’t watch me,” which sparked outrage among online users. As a result of the video’s widespread distribution on social media, many Twitter users have vowed to boycott her upcoming movie, “Brahmastra.”

Kareena expressed similar views to Alia in the video, which sparked a “boycott” trend on Twitter and ultimately hurt the movie’s box office performance. In recent years, the boycott trend has become increasingly popular, with many actors and their films suffering as a result.
Talking about “Brahmastra,” it will be released in theatres on September 9. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna from the south. Brahmastra, the first movie in a trilogy that will create the Astraverse, Bollywood’s very own cinematic universe, took five years to make. Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada are the five Indian languages in which the movie will be released.
