Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra is the new victim of boycott, netizens angry over her old interview

The new entry to the boycott trend is Alia Bhatt. Netizens are asking to scrap her upcoming movie Brahmastra. The recent comments made by the Bollywood actress offended many, which sparked the wildly popular Twitter hashtags “Boycott Brahmastra” and “Boycott Bollywood.” However, neither the movie nor the actress are original in this regard.

Trolls frequently target Alia for a variety of reasons. This time, Alia allegedly said in an interview that “if you don’t like me, don’t watch me,” which sparked outrage among online users. As a result of the video’s widespread distribution on social media, many Twitter users have vowed to boycott her upcoming movie, “Brahmastra.”

A Twitter user wrote, “#Bollywood seems to be losing its mind because of #BoycottBollywood trend. As you wish dear @aliaa08”. Another one wrote, “Inspired by Kareena Kapoor Khan, now Alia Bhatt says, “I can’t keep defending myself verbally. And if you don’t like me, don’t watch me” So you know what should we do next with her upcoming movie, Bhramastra, right? RT to amplify & reach everyone’s TL & all WhatsApp groups.” “‘Don’t like me, don’t watch my movie’ -Alia Butt The audacity of this nepo seed! Challenge accepted!!! #BoycottBrahmastra #BoycottBollywood” wrote another.

A previous incident in which Kareena Kapoor’s old interview appeared on social media just before the release of her movie “Laal Singh Chaddha” angered many people. Kareena expressed similar views to Alia in the video, which sparked a “boycott” trend on Twitter and ultimately hurt the movie’s box office performance. In recent years, the boycott trend has become increasingly popular, with many actors and their films suffering as a result.

Talking about “Brahmastra,” it will be released in theatres on September 9. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and stars Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna from the south. Brahmastra, the first movie in a trilogy that will create the Astraverse, Bollywood’s very own cinematic universe, took five years to make. Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada are the five Indian languages in which the movie will be released.
