Hansal Mehta film Faraaz: What Delhi High Court has to Say, Check Details

The Delhi High Court recently heard a plea against acclaimed director Hansal Mehta’s film Faraaz. The plea was filed by a private company that alleged that the film was based on the story of the complainant and its associates without permission.

The court, however, dismissed the plea, stating that the plaintiff failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove copyright infringement. The court noted that the film was about the life of a young man who is trying to make his way in the world and does not depict the plaintiff’s story in any way.

The court also noted that the defendant had obtained permission from the competent authorities to shoot the film in Delhi and had taken all necessary precautionary measures to avoid copyright infringement.

The court further observed that the plaintiff had also failed to prove that the defendant had made any monetary gain from the film. The court further noted that the defendant had already been released on the internet and had already been seen by an audience and that the plaintiff had failed to provide any evidence to prove that the said film was causing any damage to its reputation.

In its ruling, the court stated that the plaintiff had failed to prove that the defendant had committed any copyright infringement and had failed to show any evidence to prove that they had suffered any damage due to the said film. The court further observed that the defendant had taken all necessary precautions to avoid copyright infringement and had released the film only after obtaining permissions from the competent authorities.

In conclusion, the Delhi High Court dismissed the plea against Hansal Mehta’s film Faraaz. The court noted that the plaintiff had failed to prove copyright infringement and had failed to provide any evidence to prove reputational damage due to the said film.
