With Daawat-e-Ishq releasing this Friday, it would be simple to recognize this man. Yes, Habib Faisal is associated with this movie as a writer and director. He is known for these two things in Bollywood apart from jotting down interesting and incredible dialogues. Though is associated with this industry since past 22 years, however, his break of ten years has his stay in B Town a smaller one. Yet he is known as one of the competent directors, screen writer of Bollywood giving some really good movies, which has given him applauds in the form of Filmfare and other prestigious awards.

Habib Faisal is born and brought up in New Delhi, and did his Mass Communications from Jamia Milia Islamia University. Later he shifted to Mumbai only, the city of dreams to fulfil his dreams. He comes from a non cinema background as his father was a teacher. He started his career by working as a cameraman in NDTV, which he did for five long years. He then started directing a number of TV serials including Kareena-Kareena, Lavaynya, etc. Later he then graduated to writing script for a number of Bollywood movies. The movies for which he did script writing include, Salaam Namaste, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Ta Ra Rum Pum, etc. However, after writing the script for the movie Do Dooni Chaar, he realised that he should be directing the movie. So at the age of 44, when many people think of retiring he did his debut directorial venture. According to him, many of the incidences in the movie belongs to his own personal life.

Besides, he has even written dialogues for various movies, which include Tara Ra Tum Pum, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Band Baaja Baaraat, while for Bewakoofiyaan he penned the script for it and the upcoming movie Daawat-e-Ishw, he is both the writer and director starring Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur. He has worked with Parineeti as well in her debut movie Ishaqzaade wherein he directed the said movie, while he is also writing script for the SRK starrer movie called Fan, which is to be released next year. As far as awards are concerned, he has bagged a couple of awards, which include the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue Do Dooni Chaar, while the same movie was adjusted for the National Awards under the Best Hindi Feature Film. He also got the Screen Award for Best Dialogues for the movie Band Baja Baaraat.
