The film starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt called Gully Boy is back in news again. And this time, it is for reaching the prestigious place – the Berlin International Film Festival. The film directed by Zoya Akhtar, which also has Kalki Koechlin in it all set to get its global premiere at the known film festival, which has reached its 69th edition. The officials have released the list of the films to be screened at the said festival. The list has now released the first nine movies chosen for the Competition along with the special screening movies under the Berlinale Special with a statement yesterday.

The film Gully Boy is somewhere inspired by the life of a known rapper Divine, and it has been chosen as part and parcel of the exclusive Berlinale Special programme. The makers have also announced the release date, which is on the V Day (February 14, 2019). The moment Ranveer came to know about this news, he turned completely ecstatic about the same. He came to the microblogging site saying “Delighted!!! as his film ‘Gully Boy’ has finally made to reach the Berlin International Film Festival for getting an exclusive screening in a great gala style.

The film deals with the street rappers from Bombay city and it has been produced by three different production companies who all together are invited to participate the screening at the Berlin Film Festival. It is organised between 7th to 17th of Feb 2019. The Official Programme, called the Berlinale screens motivates the modern-day filmmakers, along with short films and documentaries which deal with different and exciting contents. The other films that are roped in this category for the special screening include Lone Scherfig’s The Kindness of Strangers along with other six films from nations like Canada, Austria, Germany, France, Holland, Turkey, and Greece who all would be participating in the competition.
