Gudi Padwa in Bollywood: Stars Celebrate the Festival with great fervor

GudiPadwa2017

There is no festival which our B-Town celebs do not celebrate with grandeur and valor. Today, the people of Maharashtra are celebrating Gudi Padwa with all the joy. For the uninitiated, the day is also celebrated as Ugadi and is basically a way to celebrate new year in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Going by mythology, this day marks the victory of good over evil. Well, this was the day when Lord Rama defeated Ravana and finally returned to Ayodhya after a ‘vanvas’ of 14 years.

It is also time when farmers are harvesting the crop and it’s said that it is one of the best season for it. On this day, people worship a decorated pole and it has an upside-down silver, brass or copper vessel along with a silk cloth. On this occasion, take a look at these throwback pictures of B-Town celebrating the festival in the last few years.

Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were elated while celebrating Gudi Padwa. The two were seen wearing their traditional clothes and complimented each other. Riteish Deshmukh definitely gives us festival goals. In an interview, he talked about his fond memories of celebrating this day. He had said, “My best memories of Gudi Padwa are definitely from my childhood when I used to get very excited to go out and shop and wear new clothes.” Madhuri also celebrated Gudi Padwa on the sets of her film, Gulab Gang. Talking about it, she had earlier said, “The festival has it’s own mazaa in Mumbai and I would miss it the most during such festivals. There are so many fond memories associated with the day and the city.
