Last Friday one saw only one movie hitting the theatres in the form of Great Grand Masti. Though the film is an adult comedy, however, it was promoted in the media as a family film. This gap in the movie created all havoc failing to attract a sizeable amount of audience to the theatres making it an average grocer after the passage of its first weekend. Secondly, the film hit the theatres a week before it was scheduled owing to the leakage it has in the media. This together has ruined the things to some extent. Thirdly, the Sultan fever continues to dominate and the film kept on earning in double figures.
With a meager collection on the day one of the movie – Great Grand Masti movie release, the trend continued with little bit of rise in the two days. Hence as per reports, the first weekend box office report tolled to around 12.15 crores, which isn’t that impressive collection for the Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani grocer film. The film performed poor over the multiplexes but did a bit better over the single screens.
Also, the movie failed to create the right word of mouth buzz in the media, which together made things bad to worse. Also, the reviews of the movie did play a deterrent factor for the film for the reason the film had adult content to deal with, which makes it a niche, based film calling a minority section of the audience towards it. So, as of now, the picture for Great Grand Masti isn’t that rosy and is likely to continue during the weekdays. The experts aren’t that happy to see the film doing better over the box office during the week days as well.
