After the Maharashtra Government allowed the entertainment industry to resume shooting, filmmakers are now buckling up to restart their pending shoots. Now the makers of Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi have also decided to restart its shoot.
According to the reports, the team is planning to commence the shoot from June 15. However, the new SOPs issued by the authorities prohibit crowd and dance sequences owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
SpotpoyE quoted President of Cine Dancers Association Zahid Sheikh as saying, “Shoots resuming once again is very good news. But this is only the case for actors, directors, cameramen, make-up and production team. Not for dancers and junior artists, as using us is against the social-distancing norms that have to be followed. Though the good part is that the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and Yash Chopra Foundation are getting more than 100 dancers vaccinated in different phases so that whenever the opportunity comes, we are ready. But, the question is when will that time come? The situation is still bad for us. What is the point of getting vaccinated and still there is no work.”
However, earlier, a source close to the project told the tabloid, “Gangubai Kathiawadi needs only three more shooting days. It’s part of a background song filmed on Alia Bhatt—she has no lip-sync songs in this film—which is almost complete. Bhansali was on the verge of completing it when shooting was called off.”
With some portions which are yet to be completed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi is scheduled to hit the big screens on July 30, 2021.
