On day two, Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt, had a healthy increase in ticket sales. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film released in theatres on Friday, grossing 10.50 crore at domestic box office. On Saturday, it is said to have grown by more than 30%, bringing in roughly Rs. 13 crore. This will bring the film’s total earnings to around Rs. 23.50 crore.
Gangubai Kathiawadi has exhibited good growth on Saturday of roughly 30-35 percent to collect around 12.50-13 crore nett.
Meanwhile, Alia hasn’t finished the film’s promotion yet. On Friday, she went to the Galaxy cinema in Mumbai to see how the audience reacted. She also declined to be distracted by any of the film’s issues.
“Neither any controversy nor any comment bothers me. I don’t think anything bothers me beyond a point. Of course, I feel like there’s a certain novelty that just a part of a film holds…whether the film is a good film or a bad film ..that doesn’t matter. The audience makes the final decision after watching the film… Anything that happens before or after can’t really change the fate,” she told ANI while promoting the film.
The audience was amazed to see the actress in a never seen before avatar and was impressed with her style and dialogue which matched the authenticity of the character she was playing. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a gambler of films, but this gambler is one who only knows to win.
Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, and Shantanu Maheshwari in pivotal roles.
