The film has faired over the box office both at the domestic as well as the overseas box office. There have been so many tweets talking about the film and discussing its eligibility in the academy award. Amidst all, we have Aparna Sen who is the lady that remains the part of the jury at Oscar Entry feels that Gully Boy has the potential to make it in the finals.

While talking to the media she said that the film has a decent vote share all thanks to its overall artistic value and the popular appeal the film owns. As per reports, the film is likely to remain the fittest one to represent the country at the prestigious awards. However, there seems to be opposition for the film from different corners of the world that claim that the film has some striking similarities with the 2012 film called 8 Mile by Curtis Hanson.
