There is only a Single ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Award’ Given to People in the Cinema
As we know that the Dadasaheb Phalke Award is among the country’s highest cinematic honour, which is presented by the President of India at the National Awards ceremony often held once in a year in New Delhi. The award is named after the man who has been known as the father of Indian cinema. H is the man who has directed the country’s first complete length feature film, called Raja Harishchandra, in the year 1913, which has been in the place since the year 1969. The award can be called as a the lifetime award to the recipient and is often given with golden Lotus, a Shawl, a Medallion and the cash money of I lakhs.
Earlier the people who have won this award include Raj Kapoor, Sivaji Ganesan, Satyajit Ray, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, and Shyam Benegal for their contribution in Indian Cinema. This year we have the award going to the actor and director Manoj Kumar, who has been nicknamed ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his patriotic cinemas released in the sixties and seventies. Recently this man of 78-year-old of age has gone to get his award on the wheelchair, who has come a long way to get the award at the Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan to get this honour from then President Pranab Mukherjee, which was presented this year for the 63rd National Film Awards.
However, the moment the award was given some of the celebrities in the B Town started greeting and congratulating the actor Manoj Vajpayee over a number of social media platforms who were joined by loads of users as well who congratulated the Aiyaari actor for his incredible performance as Dr Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras in his last year movie called Aligarh. A few days later, the actor then spoke about it and said that such awards are given once and it is not him who has bagged the honor but the senior actor Manoj Kumar who has bagged.
