This valentine season had two movies which certainly include Fitoor. The Adiya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif starrer film noted an average collection on its first day weekend. Though the film had a decent promotion and was enjoying a good buzz in the media but it failed to translate into mullah for the film for the obvious reasons. The film started its collection with 3.71 crores followed by mere 4 crores on Saturday and finally on Sunday the collection to some extent yet it failed to get the required amount over the box office. Interestingly, the other release – Sanam Re managed to get better collection than Fitoor despite the dull promotion and less star value
As per reports, the first day box office report tolled to around 14.11 crores, which was certainly not expected to collect at the end of the first weekend of the film. Fitoor however managed to do better over the multiplexes, while at the single screens the film couldn’t do much. The other factors, which went against the film was the average reviews and the low word of mouth buzz in the media, which together did the rest of the damage. As the budget of the film was too high hence such low collection would always make things bad for Fitoor, which is not the case with Sanam Re.
