Firangi can be called as Kapil Sharma’s second tryst with the Bollywood. The film hit the screens on December 1. Though this could be called as his second feature movie but the comedian seemed to have his own fans thanks to his popular TV show like Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show. But it looks like that he is being mired in controversies since past few months for many reasons and of course for his film as well. Now talking about the second movie of Kapil Sharma, we see the movie making only Rs 6.25 crores at the box office.
The film opened on a dull note earning Rs 2.10 crore, despite releasing the solo (except the film Tera Intezaar) on the weekend. In fact, initially, the movie was supposed to hit the screens on November 24 but due to the Padmavati’s release date being delayed to an indefinite time period, the makers felt that they should release it on December 1 or else they may have to wait for a longer duration. Now going by the numbers, the film Firangi has not been able to well at the box office after it completed its first week at the box office.
The film managed to get an average review, which also had its impact over the box office. Also, the movie was not able to promote properly for the ‘mildly engaging film.’ Despite the good performances from the lead stars like Kapil Sharma along with the supporting cast like Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill coming up with some of the best performances, yet this period drama failed to attract the audience. So, after the first week, the film had a meager collection. As per reports, the 1st week box office collection for Firangi tolled to around 9.25 crores, which is not that impressive figure.
