Netflix You was simply a show stopper gaining quite an applaud from the viewer. With the second season for the same getting a role, the showrunners of the show have revealed an entering and pretty magnetizing news on the Season 2. As per revelations made, the You Season 2 will be darker one and is definitely not meant for the weak stomachs or hearts. The scenes from the season 2 series are going to be gorier and scarier as compared to the previous scenes in the Season 1.
Apparently, the West Coast isn’t going to be the best place for Joe Goldberg, the lead character of Netflix’s hit drama You as played by actor Penn Badgley.
In the second season of the show, Badgley’s character has been moving across the country following the various horrifying events of the first season but, it appears that even the sunshine isn’t helping him at all as the showrunner recently revealed that the upcoming season will be “darker” as compared to the previous one.
As per a famous US media platform, it was stated by the showrunner Sera Gamble, “Darker than season one.”
Gamble further added, “I would say that season 2 of You, kind of, doubles down on some of the stuff that you might come to expect. Moving the show to Los Angeles brought out a whole different side of Joe Goldberg.”
Speaking on the same in a different interview, Gamble mentioned that, “At least one scene comes to mind that’s gorier and scarier than anything we had in season 1.”
The showrunner further added, “You will know it when you see it. Episode 2 of the season has my single favourite shot that I have been a part of in my entire career. My career is full of blood and gore and monsters. It’s also beautifully shot and the director who shot the second episode lavished a lot of love. Joe is forced to do something he really doesn’t want to do.”
Season 1, aired on Netflix, was set in the background of the New York City and was based on the book with the same name by the author Caroline Kepnes.
The first season followed Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager (Badgley) who falls in love with a customer named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and gets obsessed with her.
The show features Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry, and Shay Mitchell in the supporting roles.
The second season will follow Kepnes’ 2016 sequel titled Hidden Bodies. However, there have been certain changes in the show from the bookish version of the same. The first season delivered a lot of twists that weren’t a part of the novel, similar can be expected with the second season as well.
