Filmmaker Avinash Das is arrested for sharing a controversial PIC of Amit Shah

Avinash Das, a filmmaker, is facing a barrage of legal issues as a result of his most recent social media post. According to reports in the media, Gujarat police detained Avinash on Tuesday from Mumbai for tweeting a photo of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and imprisoned IAS official Pooja Singhal. The City Crime Branch team transported the director to Ahmedabad to continue the legal procedure. According to reports, Avinash also shared a different image of a woman sporting the national flag on his Facebook and Instagram accounts.

According to D P Chudasama, assistant commissioner of police, “We detained Das from Mumbai on Tuesday. Our crew is transporting him to Ahmedabad for additional legal proceedings. Avinash Das has been charged with forgery in accordance with Section 469 of the Indian Penal Code, the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, and the Information. Amit Shah and Pooja Singhal can be seen speaking to each other in this contentious viral photo that the 46-year-old filmmaker shared in June. The picture is claimed to have been shot a few days before Singhal was detained by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering investigation.

The criminal branch reportedly asserted that the image was shared with the objective to harm Amit Shah’s reputation. For publishing the picture of the woman wearing the tricolor, Avinash Das has also been charged with defaming national honor. Tomorrow, Avinash Das will be presented in court in Ahmedabad. After the sessions court denied the filmmaker of Anaarkali of Aarah’s anticipatory bail, and he petitioned the Gujarat High Court, which was also denied.

He is well-known for directing the Netflix series “She” and the Swara Bhasker-starring film “Anaarkali of Aarah.”
