Fighter Faces Suspension in UAE Following Ban Across Gulf Countries for Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone Starrer

Fighter, the much-anticipated aerial action film featuring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has encountered an unexpected obstacle in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Despite initially avoiding the ban imposed in other Gulf countries, Fighter has now been suspended in the UAE as well. This development follows concerns regarding the film’s narrative, which centers around India’s response to the sensitive Pulwama terrorist attack.

The film’s trailer, lauded for its technical brilliance and emotional depth, received acclaim for its action-packed sequences and patriotic themes. However, the portrayal of the Pulwama attack within the film sparked criticism from some quarters in Pakistan, with allegations that the film promotes an “anti-Pakistan” agenda and exploits a sensitive issue. It is believed that this criticism, combined with the film’s controversial subject matter, influenced the decisions of the Gulf censor boards.

In response to these concerns, director Siddharth Anand urged viewers to watch the film in its entirety to gain a comprehensive understanding before forming an opinion based solely on the trailer. He emphasized that Fighter seeks to raise questions about terrorism and does not aim to incite animosity towards any nation. This sentiment was echoed by the lead cast, underscoring the film’s underlying message of unity against terrorism.

Despite the suspension in the UAE, Fighter will continue to be screened in theatres across India. The film’s potential resumption in the UAE remains uncertain.

In addition to Hrithik and Deepika, the film also features Anil Kapoor, along with Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, and Sanjeeda Shaikh. It is jointly produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures. On the other hand, the film is gaining good at the box office even before it has been released. All thanks to the huge buzz of the film that has been created around the film we could see a decent collection under advance booking. Stay tuned to know more about it only with us.
