Actor and producer Farhan Akhtar celebrates 20 years of his home-banner Excel Entertainments, pens a beautiful note expressing his gratitude to the entire creative department.
Farhan Akhtar took to his social media and dropped a teaser post along with a note. It read, “20 Years Of Excel – And to think all we wanted was to just make Dil Chahta Hai. Thank you life for having other plans. Thank you to all actors, writers, directors, technicians, music directors, lyricists and every single person from all creative departments and production teams that walked alongside and sometimes carried me on this journey. None of it was possible without you”
“And none of it was possible without the love of you, the audiences. It’s been your support that’s given wings to our dreams. Thank you. All I can say now, 2 decades later, is that we’re just getting started. Let’s fly…@ritesh_sid @excelmovies” read the full note.
The teaser chronicles the journey of Excel from Dil Chahta Hai and all the hit movies the production house has delivered over 2 decades.
Excel Entertainment was founded in 1999 by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. They are also known to be the pioneers of original content on Online Digital platforms in India. In 2017, they released India’s first original series for Amazon Prime Video – Inside Edge, which was nominated for the International Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series.
Their first film, Dil Chahta Hai, received critical acclaim. They won national awards for Dil Chahta Hai and Rock On!!. With movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Don, Fukrey, Raees and Dil Dhadakne Do, Excel is known for its contemporary and diversified characters and style of cinema. Their film Gully Boy was also India’s official entry to the 92nd Academy Awards.
Excel Entertainment also produced the Hindi dubbed versions of the 2018 Indian Kannada-language period action K.G.F: Chapter 1 starring Yash and the 2019 Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, an Indian Telugu-language epic action film, starring Chiranjeevi.
Their latest releases include Toofaan starring Farhan Akhtar, K.G.F: Chapter 2 starring Yash and Phone Bhoot starring Katrina Kaif, Ishan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Their upcoming O.T.T. The show is Inside Edge Season 3.
