Mamta Sharma is a popular name in Indian playback singing domain in Bollywood for her song Munni Badnaam Hui from the popular film of Salman Khan called Dabangg. She was born in a town called Birla Nagar in Gwalior in MP on 7th September 1980. She did her schooling from Saint Paul’s School in Morar Gwalior. Since her childhood she was active in cultural programs and stage shows and known to sing for her own band in different parties including marriage, reception and other get together parties. This gave her a strong base for her singing career, which she is currently enjoying in the industry of Bollywood.

Her career in playback singing started with lending her voice to different Bengali and Bhojpuri albums. Amidst all this she was recognized by the popular music director Lalit Pandit, who helped her to get her first break in Bollywood. Her very first song Munni Badnam Hui from Dabangg became a big hit, which gave a good boost in the industry. In fact, her song was among the top in the chartbusters list giving her a very good launch pad for all. Mamta Sharma then went on to sing for different movies, which include Bin Bulaye Barati, Loot, Rowdy Rathore, Bol Bachchan, Son of Sardar, Shiva, Rakhtbeej, Dabangg 2, Zila Ghaziabad, Himmatwala, Zanjeer, Toofan, etc.

Some of her recent movies in which she has been involved in playback singing include Singham Returns, Raja Natwarlal, Mumbai Can Dance Saala, Tevar, Dolly Ki Doli, etc. Her upcoming films include Welcome Back, DK, Dirty Politics, etc. She also sings for regional movies, which include South Indian films and Bengali films.
