Both Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat made headlines with their verbal sparring immediately after the release of their blockbuster erotic thriller, Murder, in 2004. However, in a surprising turn of events, the two actors were recently spotted bumping into each other at a wedding and even posing together for the paparazzi. In an interview with News18, Emraan expressed his desire to work with Mallika again, putting their past differences behind them.
Emraan Hashmi reflected on the tumultuous phase they went through, acknowledging that they were young and impulsive at the time. He recognized that during certain stages in life, decision-making can be limited, leading to regrettable actions and words. Both he and Mallika said mean things about each other, but Emraan emphasized that those incidents were now a thing of the past. He described the meeting as a pleasant experience, highlighting the warmth between them. Emraan expressed his wish to have the opportunity to work with Mallika again, appreciating her as a co-actor.
Recalling their recent encounter at producer Anant Pandit’s daughter’s wedding, Emraan Hashmi described it as warm and cordial. It had been a long time since they had such an encounter, as they had only met a couple of times after the release of Murder.
The feud between Emraan and Mallika began after their breakout hit, Murder, directed by Anurag Basu, hit the screens in 2004. Fans were enamored by their sizzling on-screen chemistry. However, ego clashes emerged, leading to public exchanges of ill remarks. Years later, during an appearance on Koffee with Karan season 4 in 2014, Emraan even referred to Mallika as a “bad kisser.” He also made a comment about gifting her a “dummy’s guide to learn English” when she was pursuing a Hollywood career at the time.
In 2021, Mallika shared her side of the story on The Love Laugh Live Show season 3, describing their fight as one of the funniest incidents. She admitted that their non-communication after the film, possibly during promotions, was childish and uncalled for. Mallika acknowledged her part in the misunderstanding and emphasized that she was no less responsible. Emraan Hashmi is set to be seen in the upcoming film Showtime, while Mallika was last seen in Pambattam.
