Emmy Awards: Netflix Comes with 160 Nominations Breaking all the Records

The streaming giant made the Emmy Awards with a great surprise as one can see a record-breaking nominations coming from it. The primetime nominations for the awards has been whopping this year with the tally reaching to 160. Yes, you heard it right and with this staggering amount of nominations, the streaming giant has beaten HBO the linear TV giant  and the other streaming players like Amazon, Disney+ and Apple TV+.

With this, HBO stood second with 107 Emmy nominations, with its hit series including Watchmen that has bagged around 26 nominations getting the approval of the best limited-series category.The series deals with superhero graphic novels called albeit with a more diverse cast getting a stronger focus on the issue of racism in the US. While the Cold War-era civil unrest along with the series dealing with nuclear conflict dominating the original. 

Netflix on the other side is seen coming with all time hits with huge amounts of viewership with industry. The other streaming platforms had very little amount of nominations. On the other side, Amazon being the biggest competitor seemed to come up with a comedy called The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, which managed to get 20 nominations. The Television Academy chairman and CEO Mr. Frank Scherma was pleased to see such nominations coming from different streaming groups in the tough time of pandemic.
