Among the four movies hitting the theatres, Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami was one of them. It is directed by Ravindra Gautam and produced Abhivan Shulka. The star leads include Anupam Kher, Diveyendu Sharma and Neha Dhupia. It falls under the drama comedy, which also seemed to be a satire for people who work tirelessly with integrity and simplicity in government departments but are hardly paid back any single appreciation. The movie opened with a dull start, since was able to secure only 400 screens in India. The occupancy reported in most of the theatres didn’t cross the figure of 5 percentage.
The very first day collection tolled to mere a figure of 20 lakhs, while the figure the next day went to around 21 and similar was the story on Sunday as well at 22. Thus the total collection at the first week went to around 63 lakhs at the box office making the movie below average. This is perhaps due to the fact that the big banner movies like Bang Bang and Haider were still doing a decent business with the former turning out to be the top grosser this year. Both these movies really hampered the business of Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami and even the others including Tamanchey.
