Drishyam 3 is taking the shape: Ajay Devgn and Mohanlal Set to Return over the Silver Screen

The Drishyam franchise, renowned as one of the largest across various languages, has captivated audiences in both Malayalam and Hindi. Following the success of two mystery-thriller installments in each language, plans are underway for a third installment. While the Malayalam version of Drishyam 3 was announced earlier, featuring Mohanlal reprising his role as George Kutty under the direction of Jeethu Joseph, reports now confirm that Ajay Devgn will also return as Vijay Salgaonkar in the Hindi adaptation directed by Abhishek Pathak.
Sources indicate that the project is already in its initial stages, with Ajay Devgn reportedly giving his approval to proceed once he wraps up his current commitments. A report from Pinkvilla reveals that Ajay was initially scheduled for a different film in the July/August timeframe, but has chosen to prioritize Drishyam 3. According to the source, “Ajay was bowled over by the twists and turns in the screenplay after Abhishek Pathak and the writers presented the narration to him. He is excited to return as Vijay Salgaonkar.”

However, Ajay Devgn’s schedule is already quite packed, including projects like De De Pyaar De 2Dhamaal 4, and Ranger. The source noted, “Ajay is booked until the end of 2025 with DDPD 2, Dhamaal 4, Ranger, and Drishyam 3. He is confident in all his upcoming films and aims to offer audiences a variety of genres, even within the franchise space.”This announcement follows Mohanlal’s social media post confirming the Malayalam version of Drishyam 3, where he stated that the film is in its early stages and that the script is finalized.
Given Ajay Devgn’s busy schedule, it appears that the Malayalam version may hit theaters before the Hindi adaptation, following the trend set by the previous installments. In addition to these projects, Ajay Devgn is also expected to work on Raid 2 and Son of Sardaar 2, further expanding his filmography in the coming years.
