Drishyam 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn’s film collected — on its opening day
Drishyam 2 Box Office Collection Day 1 had a very successful beginning at the box office with occupancies of 40% and it will finish up having the second-highest opening of 2022 after Brahmastra and beating Bhool Bhulaiya 2 and Ram Setu. This is also Ajay Devgan’s biggest non-holiday opening day, perhaps surpassing Tanhaji, and his fourth-highest opening day overall.

By the end of the first day, the film secures —- at the box office. Helmed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 2 is part of a franchise, and the original Drishyam from 2015 was a huge hit on satellite, so that might explain the strong start. In fact, Bhool Bhoolaiya 2 was also a franchise, thus the lesson for Bollywood appears to be that franchising, as it is in Hollywood, is the way forward. After Brahmastra and ahead of Bhool Bhoolaiya 2, Drishyam 2 had the most advance booking in 2022.
Drishyam 2 is expected to be created on a budget of 90 crores, including advertising charges. In 2015, the First Drishyam has a budget of 65 crores.
The film has lots of twists and turns to keep you interested throughout, much like its predecessor. And the Salgaokars’ narrative will live on in the public imagination.
Drishyam 2, based on the same-named Malayalam thriller, begins up where the previous film left off, with Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) leaving from a police station with a shovel. The almost-perfect crime had a witness seven years ago, which offers police momentum and ammo to reopen the Sameer Deshmukh missing-persons inquiry after all these years.
Ajay Devgn excels as a loving father who loves his family wholeheartedly; he is a simple man with a razor-sharp mind. Akshaye Khanna adds seriousness to the proceedings. Tabu gives an outstanding performance as Meera, a mother seeking justice for her kid. Rajat Kapoor excels as her spouse, who is eager to get everything sorted out as quickly as possible. Gaitonde (Kamlesh Sawant) remains merciless and eager for revenge. Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav reprise their roles as other Salgaonkars from the previous film. The mystery is solved admirably by Saurabh Shukla, who portrays writer Murad Ali.
