Don 3 Faces Further Delay as Ranveer Singh Prioritizes ‘Dhurandhar’

Catching the elusive Don once again proves tougher than expected. Farhan Akhtar’s long-awaited Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon, has officially been removed from the 2025 production calendar. Originally set to begin filming in October, the action-packed sequel will now start production in January 2026, marking yet another setback in its prolonged development.PeepingMoon.com reveals that Ranveer Singh’s commitment to director Aditya Dhar’s highly anticipated Dhurandhar is the primary reason behind the delay. Ranveer is deeply involved in this mission-based action thriller and prefers to complete Dhurandhar before moving on to any new projects. With just 10-15 days of shooting left—expected to wrap by late August or early September—Ranveer’s focus remains firmly on the project
.A source close to the production shared, “Aditya Dhar is simultaneously shooting and editing Dhurandhar, planning additional filming after the initial edit. This could extend over a month due to scheduling and logistics. The film promises to be a visual action spectacle. Ranveer, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal are fully committed to Dhar’s vision and adjusting their schedules accordingly. Both Ranveer and Aditya want to deliver something truly ambitious and don’t want distractions.”Besides Ranveer’s dedication to Dhurandhar, the busy release schedules of the Don 3 team have contributed to the postponement.
Farhan Akhtar’s war drama 120 Bahadur is set to release on November 21, while Kriti Sanon stars in Tere Ishk Mein, a romantic drama directed by Aanand L. Rai, releasing November 28. With the lead actors preparing for back-to-back promotional campaigns, starting Don 3 as planned has become unfeasible. This delay has also impacted Ranveer’s other projects, including a VFX-heavy zombie action thriller directed by Scam 1992 co-director Jai Mehta. Initially slated for early 2026, this ambitious film has been pushed to mid-2026 to fit the revised Don 3 schedule. The project is expected to be officially announced soon, promising to be a one-of-a-kind cinematic venture.
