Doctor G box office reports: makes a slow start, but is better than Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui & Anek
Medical Drama Doctor G is a worthy return to the big screen for actor Ayushmann Khurrana. The film, which was released yesterday, faced a clash with Parineeti Chopra’s Code Name: Tiranga and Rishab Shetty’s Kantara, a Hindi version of his Kannada film. Doctor G is doing much better as compared to these two releases. Doctor G box office collection is better than Ayushmann’s previous films, Anek & Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. While Anek gained about Rs. 1.77 crore on Day 1, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui made Rs. 3.75 crore on its opening day.
Film analyst Taran Adarsh stated that Doctor G’s first-day collection was about Rs. 3.87 crores.
Despite low pre-release buzz, #DoctorG puts up a decent total on Day 1… National chains fare better, while mass pockets are extremely dull… Has scope for improvement on Day 2 and 3… Needs that push for a respectable weekend total… Fri ₹ 3.87 cr. #India biz. pic.twitter.com/dEtKtP7Tcd

On the second day, i.e., today, Ayushmann’s film needs to perform better and pick up. This will take away the post-covid effect, where films focused on content didn’t do well in theatres. Take Anek, Rocketry, and Jhund as examples. All the films with good content showed low performance at the box office, ruining the expectations of filmmakers.
Talking about Code Name Tiranga, this Parineeti Chopra-starrer action movie could hardly collect Rs. 0.15 crore, 20% of Kangana Ranaut’s Dhakkad, which collected Rs. 0.55 crore. On the other hand, Kantara’s Hindi dubbed version did a little better than Parineeti’s film, collecting Rs. 1.27 crore on its opening day.
So, Doctor G box office reports make it a clear winner on the opening day, amid this clash of three movies. Let’s wait and watch how these three movies manage to take hold and grow their revenue in the coming days.
