1st Day Opening Box Office Report
The film starring John Abraham and Varun Dhawan called Dishoom had a good response over the box office. Despite getting the mixed reviews by most of the critics, the film managed to get a good start on the first day. As per reports, the movie opened up with the occupancy of 40 percent in the morning shows, which escalated in the coming days. This has helped the film to garner a good word of mouth buzz, which will have its impact the coming first weekend.
As the day passed and entered into the evening shows, the occupancy was very much high and raked a good response giving a par occupancy report tolling even 95 to 100 percent. As per reports, the first day box office collection for Dishoom tolled to around 5 crores, which is actually a decent figure for day one. In fact, if you check the reports, the film has done well over the mass centers; however, it went slightly low over the metro cities and multiplexes.
As per reports, the movie got 3000 screens, hence expecting such a good response was expected. And the other factor that worked for the movie was the decent amount of promotion in the media. The film managed to do better in states like UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, NCR and other places, while it was affected in the South owing to the obvious reason – Kabali. But the fact of the matter is that Dishoom has its own advantage as there is hardly any big competition seen in B Town as it happens to be a solo release.
