Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ to Clash with Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ on June 12
More than five years after their infamous 2020 Twitter showdown over the farmers’ protests, Diljit Dosanjh and Kangana Ranaut are taking their rivalry from social media to the silver screen. In an ironic turn of events, both actors are locked and loaded for a massive box office collision on June 12, 2026. This high-stakes clash features two completely different cinematic styles, giving the upcoming weekend its biggest entertainment talking point.
Diljit Dosanjh will be seen in Main Vaapas Aaunga, a highly anticipated historical drama that shifts between the tragic 1947 Partition era and the present day. The film marks an exciting creative reunion for director Imtiaz Ali, Diljit, and music maestro A.R. Rahman, who previously collaborated on the acclaimed 2024 musical hit Amar Singh Chamkila. The project features a strong ensemble cast, including rising stars Vedang Raina and Sharvari alongside veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah.
On the other side of the clash is Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, a hard-hitting drama centered around Mumbai’s tragic 26/11 terror attacks. Kangana leads the film as a brave nurse putting her life on the line to save patients at the Cama and Albless Hospital. Directed by Manoj Tapadia and backed by PEN Studios and Manikarnika Films, it features a talented supporting cast including Girija Oak Godbole and Smita Tambe.
Interestingly, this is not the first time these two stars have locked horns at the ticket window. History is repeating itself from July 26, 2019, when Diljit’s cop-comedy Arjun Patiala released on the exact same day as Kangana’s psychological black-comedy Judgementall Hai Kya. Whether this dramatic off-screen history translates into bigger box office footfalls remains to be seen, but the impending June 12 face-off has officially set the stage for an intense theatrical battle.
