Diljit Dosanjh Confirms Second Collaboration with Imtiaz Ali Following Amar Singh Chamkila
Diljit Dosanjh has officially announced his second project with acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali through a behind-the-scenes vlog from his current shoot in Punjab. Shared on Instagram Thursday, the video offers fans an intimate glimpse into Diljit’s daily routine while subtly confirming his reunion with Imtiaz Ali after the blockbuster success of Amar Singh Chamkila.
The vlog shows Diljit starting his day at 4:30 am, followed by a workout and a healthy breakfast of fruits and protein. He then heads to the set, where scenes are filmed against a green screen. Warm interactions with Imtiaz Ali confirm that the director is once again at the helm of Diljit’s upcoming untitled film. After shooting, Diljit returns to a picturesque haveli where he is staying during production.This new film marks the duo’s second collaboration following the critically acclaimed Amar Singh Chamkila, which portrayed the life of the legendary Punjabi musician.
The film starred Parineeti Chopra as Amarjot, Chamkila’s wife. Known as the “Elvis of Punjab,” Chamkila was celebrated for his electrifying performances and bold lyrics. His assassination alongside Amarjot in 1988 remains a significant loss in Punjabi music history.Amar Singh Chamkila earned Diljit a Best Actor nomination at the International Emmy Awards, alongside a nomination for Best TV Movie/Mini-Series. Though it did not win, the film brought global attention to Punjabi and Indian storytelling and highlighted Chamkila’s lasting cultural impact.

Diljit is also set to star in Border 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 classic. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film features Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit in pivotal roles as courageous soldiers defending the nation. Produced by T-Series and J.P. Films, Border 2 is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, promising high-octane action, emotional depth, and a stirring patriotic narrative.
