Diljit Dosanjh becomes the first turbaned Sikh to hold Wax Statue at Madame Tussauds
The highly talented actor cum singer, Diljit Dosanjh has grabbed another profound global success becoming the first ever turbaned Sikh to unveil his wax figure at Madame Tussauds. This is quite a proud moment for Diljit getting his wax statue at the museum.
Diljit Dosanjh holds a pretty promising career in acting along with his silky voice that featured him as a top notch singer on a global scale. The Ik Kudi singer is already popular across the world and having his wax statue erected is the most prestigious moment for the man.
Pretty excited Diljit took onto his social media handles to express his happiness and gratitude for his fans. Tagging the pictures from the event, the Udta Punjab actor captioned his posts as, “Aukaat Ghat Te Kirpa Zyada. Dosanjh Kalan Ton @MadameTussauds @tussaudsdelhi. Wah Maalka Terian Tu Jaaney. FIRST Turbaned SIKH to Have Wax Figure at #MadameTussauds. LOVE MY FANS (sic).”
In his tweet, Diljit Dosanjh also mentioned about his journey of coming from a small village of Punjab, Dosanjh Kalan and paving the most difficult path of reaching to Madame Tussauds. The wax idol is inspired from his look from his famous song Putt Jatt Da.
Dressed in a black tux with a black turban, the actor simply appeared as a dapper at the unveiling ceremony.
Taking a selfie with his figurine, Diljit mentioned, “Forget about having a wax figure here, I had almost given up hope of even entering Madame Tussauds.”There was a long line. I was in London for a day, so couldn’t find the time. I tried again, but the attempts were not successful. Then I thought, I will go in like this only.”
Diljit began his career as a Punjabi singer giving some of the popular tracks including Proper Patola, Patiala Peg, 5 Taara, Laembadgini, Move Lakk and Channo, etc. Soon, he moved to some of the best ever Bollywood movies, Udta Punjab, Soorma, Phillauri and Welcome to New York, along with many other Punjabi films such as the Jatt & Juliet series, Disco Singh, Super Singh, Punjab 1984 and the Sardaar Ji series. Diljit Dosanjh is currently busy working for his upcoming films including Arjun Patiala and Good News.
