After a reasonably good opening in its first weekend, the Zoya Akhtar‘s film- Dil Dhadakne Do ended up doing a decent business at its first week. Though the box office collection for the film was that rage as compared to the weekend, yet it ended up with a decent note. In the list of movies released this year, DDD along with Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Piku did a decent business. However, the kind of response the film was supposed to get seems a big less considering a multi-starrer big budget film. Perhaps it would need another good week to make this film a big hit over the box office.
So far, DDD has enjoyed the third best opening after the sequel of Kangana Ranut and R Madhavan this year, yet it’s collection was hampered a big with Tanu Weds Manu Returns as it is still on in the race of doing business over the box office. Gabbar Is Back was able to cross the 85 crore mark in its third week, however, it would be interesting to see how the Zoya Akhtar‘s film would perform the upcoming week. As per the experts, this week’s release in the form of Hamari Adhuri Kahani is likely to do less harm for its mixed reviews.
Now talking about the collection, Dil Dhadakne Do’s first week box office collection tolled to around 57 crores, which seems to be a decent figure. The first weekend of the film was good and so is the first week if we compare the same with Zoya‘s earlier movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Let’s see how the film would perform in the coming few weeks.
